Chewton Mendip WI members have knitted hundreds of poppies to add to the thousands going over to Normandy to help decorate every single soldier’s silhouette as part of the 80th anniversary of D Day. 

They also thought it would be appropriate to knit and crochet more poppies to decorate the solider silhouettes in and around our local villages.

Chewton Medip Women's Institute meets on the second Monday of every month in Chewton Mendip Village hall, 7pm, we host interesting and varied speakers, do some hands on activity,  offer support and friendship and support local and national causes. New and current members always welcome.
