Bath & North East Somerset Council is advising people plan their journeys next week as it undertakes essential works to cut down approximately 100 ash trees infected with Ash Dieback disease.

The infected trees, located on the A39 between Crossways and High Littleton, will be felled between 27-29 March. Overnight road closures will be in place between 7pm and 5am while the works take place. A diversion route will be in place and can be seen on one.network.

The council will plant suitable replacement trees in future planting seasons.

Ash Dieback kills native ash trees by blocking their water transport system and is affecting trees in areas across the UK. More information on the disease can be seen on the council’s website.

Residents living in properties affected will be contacted directly regarding access arrangements.
