SWALLOW Charity, the local charity supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities, is very grateful to Tesco Midsomer Norton for their ongoing support.

Every week, Tesco donates a food box to SWALLOW’s Cafés, which are training cafés for people with learning disabilities to gain catering and front of house, customer service skills. This support from Tesco helps to make the café sustainable and able to offer reasonably priced, nutritious food to the local community.

One of SWALLOW’s Café Support Workers said: ‘I like that the cafés can do our bit to reduce food waste. I enjoy the challenge of using the items up in cakes, soups and specials so there is more variety for the members and customers. It also encourages our members to try new things - especially as they have made them.’

SWALLOW is also grateful to Tesco for other donations and support throughout the year and many SWALLOW members also enjoy shopping at the store. Last week SWALLOW staff and members took the opportunity to visit, to present the Tesco Team with a Star for SWALLOW award to say a big “Thank you!”.
