Last week’s Letters page brought back memories for some of you when Grant Johnson shared this photograph of his mother, her siblings and their friends at Radstock Youth Club in the 1970s.
Martin Horler wrote in telling The Journal: “I was so pleased to see the photo on this week’s letters page from Grant Johnson. Sadly I am not able to identify any of the people as they were in the club ten years later than myself, but, what I did recognise instantly was the banner! It brought back many happy memories.
“The club was Radstock Methodist Youth Club and we were affiliated to The Methodist Association of Youth Clubs (MAYC) and in, I think, 1962 or 1963 we all went to London to attend a MAYC Rally in the Albert Hall so I made the banner to Identify our club.
“The attached photograph is the following year, 1964 when one of our members/leaders Graham Fish married Pauline, we all went up to Horseforthnear Leeds as a surprise for them as they came out of the Church. I am the face between the bride and groom and I am holding the banner which you will see is the same one as in last week’s Journal.”
