TV personality Amanda Holden was ‘soaked to her skin’ during her epic cycling challenge due to severe weather which brought flash flooding to Somerset.

On day two of her journey, the Heart Breakfast co-presenter battled through severe rain as part of her 250-mile cycling challenge, causing delays to her scheduled arrival in Frome.

The star, who arrived in Frome a couple of hours later than scheduled at around 4.45pm, is cycling from her mother's house in Bude, Cornwall, to the Heart HQ in London's Leicester Square to raise funds for Make Some Noise, which raises money for small charities across the UK.

Amanda said: “The weather is biblical… I'm honestly soaked to the skin, my bum, everything's wet…”

On Monday, October 7, Amanda began her challenge in Cornwall, cycling through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey to get to Heart HQ on Friday October 11 - just in time for Global’s Make Some Noise Day.

Make Some Noise is a charity set up by Global, a big media company in the UK. The charity helps small local organisations that are making a difference in their communities. It focuses on important issues like mental health, helping disadvantaged children and young people, social isolation, and homelessness.

Through her cycling challenge, she aims to raise funds and awareness for various important causes supported by the charity.

Amanda is no stranger to tough challenges, having previously completed the Three Peaks Challenge, a 10,000-feet skydive and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower, all in aid of Global’s Make Some Noise. Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work will be the farthest and longest Amanda has ever cycled before!

Amanda said: “I can’t quite believe that I’m going to becycling over 250 miles from my mum's house in Cornwall to London for Global's Make Some Noise - it’s a massive challenge!.

“’m told it’s not going to be particularly flat so I’m gonna have buns of steel by the end of this. Knowing that every mile I cover will help raise funds for those local projects providing a lifeline directly to those who need it most is what will keep me going.

“Plus, I’ll get the nicest Cornish sendoff from my mum with a big cuddle. I can’t wait to see how much we can raise for Global’s Make Some Noise, I know we’ll get incredible support from our amazing listeners. Their generosity truly means the world, and together we can help those projects that make such a difference in their communities.”
