With November being the month when we especially remember those who fought and died for our country, Richard Cooper-Knight will bring some of the names carved into our local war graves to life, telling their stories.
Richard is a photographer, genealogist and author and is also fascinated by the lives of those who were killed in action during the First World War.
He has been travelling Somerset seeking out First World War Commonwealth Graves. He has used various sources to research the stories of the lives of the names carved into the granite of the Commonwealth War Graves.
This has led to a wealth of stories of family and tragedy; each name is brought to life with their own individual history. This research includes the stories behind those heroes whose names can be found on War Graves in the Midsomer Norton and Radstock area.
Death and Service By Richard Cooper-Knight will be held on Tuesday, November 5, at the Somer Centre in Midsomer Norton from 7:30pm until 8:30pm.
This will be followed by questions and the raffle results until 8.45pm. Doors open at 7pm. No booking is required just turn up. Details can be found at. Visit the what’s on section at: www.radstockmuseum.co.uk.
