Beloved Frome music venue 23 Bath Street is set to reopen under new management and a new name.
The doors to the venue closed at the end of 2024 but looks set to reopen as The Tunnels on Friday, January 24.
The new owners plans to offer a varied list of events catering to music, culture, and community interests.
The opening event will feature live performances by Creeping Line Ahead and Skulls Awake, followed by a rock and metal DJ set. Regular weekly events are expected to include themed events such as 80s and 90s nights, Techno and Drum and Bass nights, LGBTQ+ nights, and live band performances, alongside ‘Battle of the DJs’ competitions.
A member of the new management team said ahead of the reopening: “Building on everything locals already love about this iconic venue, The Tunnels promises an exciting range of new features, including Thursday club nights, Sunday roasts, and afternoon karaoke sessions.”
The venue, which served as a key part of Frome’s music and nightlife scene for more than a decade, had closed due to various challenges cited by its previous management, including rising costs and changes in audience behaviour.
The reopening has sparked interest locally, with many residents eager to see how The Tunnels will contribute to the area’s already thriving music scene.
Updates and event announcements for The Tunnels will be shared on its social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
