On Tuesday, 24th October, a free training and jobs fair will be held in Midsomer Norton from 10am to 2pm at the Midsomer Norton Library.
Funded by the Skills Connect initiative (a one-stop resource for skills and training, delivered by the West of England Combined Authority), the Employment and Skills Pod will be bringing information, advice and support to job seekers at the event.
Skills Connect provide resources to all residents across Bath and North East Somerset. Their focus is to supply a source for employment, training and upskilling across the region all in one place. This new site sits in line with the Metro Mayor’s priority to create good jobs for all in the West of England.
More information can be found on their website, www.skillsconnect.org.uk
Open to residents of B&NES and further afield, the fair will be bringing along a host of employers, with twenty two businesses confirmed for the day. Employers such as Arthur David, Bluebird Care, HCRG and First Bus will all be on hand to provide information, advice, guidance and potential training and job opportunities.
The Employment and Skills Pod will be offering free advice to B&NES residents. The team will also endeavour to support those seeking advice who don’t live in the district by signposting them to other services who may be able to help.
Those who wish to attend can book via the Eventbrite page, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code shown (right) with their mobile phone camera, though booking is not essential.
