People living in Peasedown St John are being invited to a series of festive events over the Christmas season at St John’s Church.

The Church, which next year will celebrate its 130th anniversary, is encouraging parishioners to come along and find out more about the Christmas story.

Vicar, Revd Matthew Street, said: “We would love to see you at one of our Christmas services at St. John’s Church.

Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Christmas with us this year. Our services will explore the miracle of Jesus’ birth and prompt us to think more about its significance for us today.

For Christians, we remember that Jesus’ birth meant so much more than a baby in a manger. It was God coming to live amongst us. Come and find about more about this amazing truth this Christmas.”

As part of the yuletide activities over Christmas week, every house in the village will receive a personal invitation to the church’s mid-week carol service on Wednesday, 21st December.

“Everyone living in Peasedown is being personally invited to sing the Christmas story with us”, added Matthew, “each house will also receive a copy of the Christmas carol sheet so they can get into the festive spirit over the festive break.”

Christmas Church services taking place at St John’s Church over the next week include:

Saturday 17th, Carols at the Red Post Inn, 8pm

Wednesday 21st, Carol Service, 7.30pm

Saturday 24th, Midnight Communion, 11.30pm
