Christmas is just around the corner, and Chilcompton resident Alisha Marsh has taken the spirit of giving gifts one step further than most.
Last year, Alisha experienced a harrowing ordeal when she lost her 4-month-old son Braydon to Meningitis. An incident she says “broke her family”.
Despite her loss, Alisha has decided to channel her energy into giving back to those who helped her through her grief. During this difficult time, Meningitis Now were there to support Alisha and her family — the charity even paid half of the cost towards Braydon’s headstone.
On Saturday 18th November, Alisha will be holding a stall at Chilcompton’s Christmas Market. Organised by Chilcompton Playgroup, the Christmas Market will take place in Village Hall from 1:30pm until 4:30 pm.
Supported by her family and a fundraiser from Meningitis Now, Alisha will be drawing a raffle with a plethora of prizes up for grabs, including a bespoke canvas from ForeverPortraits and a one-hour massage from The Medical. All of the money from raffle tickets sold will be donated to Meningitis Now. There will also be a chance to play ‘guess the teddy bears’ and ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar,’ with all proceeds from the mini-games going to Jessie May Children’s Hospice.
Alisha says that her aim is to raise as much money as possible for Meningitis Now.
So far, she has raised a total of £300 for the charity.
