Les and Gina returned to Chilcompton Golden Hour club last week for an evening of songs and laughter. 

Tunes from 50s and 60s were remembered, but not always the artists! A highlight of the evening was a Wurzels’ number and Les revealed that he had worked on stage with lead Wurzels’ singer Pete Budd from 1957 for about five years.

Next month, members will celebrate the club’s 55th birthday with a special meal. The club started in 1968 with one hundred members from Chilcompton and Stratton on the Fosse, many of whom were transported to meetings by coach, driven by Alfie.

Members are reminded to arrive at the hall earlier next month from 5.30pm. for a 6pm. start.
