Retiring chairman Peter Bradshaw explained that, due to the pandemic, it was 948 days since the choir’s previous concert.
That’s the longest gap in the choir’s history dating from its origins as the Timsbury Male Voice Choir in 1919.
The audience enjoyed twelve varied numbers from the choir, who were accompanied by choir pianist Phil Every.
Guest cellist Anna Galloway added her immense talent on Be Thou My Vision and Abide With Me. Anna also played two solo spots, showing her amazing virtuosity.
Hopefully it is back to business as usual with rehearsals restarting on Monday, 12th September at St Mary’s School, Timsbury at 7.30pm.
With the first planned concert at St Mary’s Church Timsbury, on Monday, 29th November at 7.30pm - only one hundred and twenty nine days from the last!
A further four concerts are also planned up to Christmas.
“Singing is a great hobby, and good for you in many ways,” said Richard Luscombe the choir’s new chairman.
“We have a good time and new members are always welcome.”
