Post Office services will make a much-anticipated return to Peasedown St John in May, thanks to a community campaign to keep a Post Office in the village.
On Tuesday, 18th May at 1 pm, a new Post Office will be open at The Hive Community Centre, in Peasedown St John, providing the usual postal services.
Joy Fraser, Chair of the Hive Management Committee, said: “We are super excited to be opening a new Post Office here at the Hive.
“Over the last few weeks, as lockdown restrictions have eased, the centre has become a hub of activity with the new SWALLOW Café opening, and the Community Library continuing to provide an essential service since the start of the year.
Now, from 18th May, residents will be able to access a Post Office in the building as well – open six days a week!”
The new Peasedown St John Post Office will be open Mondays – Fridays, 8.30 am – 3 pm, and Saturdays, 9 am – 12.30 pm.
Services provided will include: postal services, banking, pensions, bill payments, etc.
Managing the new Post Office will be Lorna Hills, who said: “A community the size of Peasedown St John needs a Post Office.
“With so many people relying on these services on a daily basis, the option of providing facilities at the Hive was an opportunity not to be missed.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the public and providing a first-class service.”
The new Post Office at The Hive benefits from a large free car park outside the front of the building, and wheelchair friendly access.
