Parc Skateboarding ran another very successful event for young people this weekend at Midsomer Norton Skatepark.
On a sunny Sunday morning lots of young people were having a great time on one of the best skateparks in the country. Experienced local skateboarders and qualified coaches were helping young people to develop skills and expertise, and to skate safely.
Midsomer Norton Town Councillors, Christian Griffiths and Martyn Plant, made a return visit to the Park to see the great work being done by Lucy Mitchell and the group of volunteers, who have created the Parc Skateboarding group.
Lucy, and the other volunteers, have donated time and money, over recent weeks, to help provide resources, training and equipment that children can benefit from. Lucy was behind the brilliant Skate Jam that took place during the Midsomer Norton Town Fayre in July.
Parc Skateboarding have been getting assistance from the Midsomer Norton Community Trust, who manage the Community Hub container, but more help is needed. It is hoped that funds can be raised to enable Parc Skateboarding to develop their work further, and create a safe outdoor environment, using the full potential of this amazing Skatepark.
Councillor’s Griffiths and Plant are keen to support Lucy and Parc Skateboarding to extend the great work they have been doing, and to improve this excellent facility for Midsomer Norton.
If you would like to help in any way, or to find out more, please email Lucy at: [email protected] or visit the Parc Skateboarding Facebook site.
