Chew Valley artist, Sandy Bell, has created a “brilliant piece of ambience” for the Lazy Lobster, the new seafood restaurant in Castle Cary.

Having decorated the oak walls of Don and Donna Kelly's first restaurant in Chew Magna, Sandy was delighted to be asked to come up with another stunning creation, featuring more than 100 images downstairs with another eight more formal paintings upstairs. It was a huge undertaking, and as you can see she could not even stop for lunch.

It was only right she was among the first guests to sample the food when the restaurant opened its doors.

The concept of the restaurant, on Castle Cary’s High Street, is for customers to share small plates from the regular menu and daily specials to make dining a truly convivial experience, and there are even meat dishes to suit those who are not fish lovers.
