Thank you to everyone who sent in their guesses, we had a mixed response this week with the following answers:
Paul Kirkwood told The Journal: “Another wild guess but I think the photo could be the old waggon repair works at Radstock.”
Sue Cook said: “We think it is the canteen and showers at Kilmersdon Colliery, Haydon.”
Valerie Rogers contacted to say: “Could it be the remains of the pit at Haydon?”
Jonathon Griffin came in with another guess, saying: “This is what can best be described as a ‘calculated guess’ but I think we’re looking at Lower Writhlington Colliery in it’s period of dereliction following it’s closure in 1973.”
Can you tell us where we are in this week’s Mystery Photograph? What was being celebrated? Where was it taken? Maybe you even recognise the people in the photograph. Please send your guess into The Journal.
A huge thank you to the Museum for their continued support of this feature, and to our readers for consistenly engaging and helping to fill in the gaps.
