A court has ordered a house in Yeovil to be boarded up for three months due to anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police's anti-social behaviour and Yeovil neighbourhood policing teams have worked with residents to bring to an end months of issues.

Yeovil Magistrates' Court granted a full closure order of the property on Ermine Street at a hearing on Wednesday, August 28.

The court heard that the address was linked to class A drug dealing and use and drug debris, including used needles, was left in the street.

There were also reports of shouting and screaming from the property with disturbances and violence spilling into public areas.

The court heard that other residents found the occupant and their visitors intimidating and weapons were stored at the property.

ASB co-ordinator Lily Crowther-Luke said: "This behaviour has taken a toll on people living nearby. We're grateful to them for having the confidence to tell us what was happening.

"It's due to their bravery and the incredibly impactful statements documenting the effect of this appalling behaviour on their day to day lives that we have been able to secure this order from the court."

Anyone who enters a property or its grounds while it is subject to a closure order is committing a criminal offence and can be arrested.

Officers will be carrying out reassurance patrols. If you see someone trying to gain access to the property, please call 999.
