On the 13th of June, 200 children from schools across Somerset joined together in Wells Cathedral for a musical adventure in space!
On the 13th June children from primary schools across Somerset performed ‘Stardust’ in the magnificent setting of Wells cathedral, supported by Bristol Ensemble, instrumentalists and soloists from Wells Cathedral School, conducted by Pete Harrison, and narrated by BBC Radio 4’s John Telfer (The Archers).
Tessa Armstrong, Voices for Life Founder and Executive Director, said “The children were amazing and sang fantastically. They have worked so hard over the last few months to prepare and really smashed it on the night delivering an exceptional performance!”
Performed by two hundred children in Wells’ magnificent cathedral, the concert took the audience on a journey through space, visiting planets which each represent an emotion.
The children had adventures on the unsure, worried, fear, sad and angry planets before overcoming their fears to reach the legendary planet Zarg!

The concert was attended by dignitaries including Jane Sedgman Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset, Robert Drewitt High Sheriff of Somerset and The Right Worshipful Mayor of Wells Cllr Tanys Pullin.
Children from four Somerset primary schools took part they were ‘Cameley’, ‘St. John’s CofE, Keynsham’, ‘Longvernal, Radstock’ and ‘West Pennard’ along with Voices for Life’s own choir from Bath. In total representing an amazing ten local schools!
