We’re beginning to emerge from the winter months: it’s now light past 5pm and in my front garden the snowdrops, closely followed by crocuses and the earliest daffodils have battled the wind and rain to show themselves.
Their presence in the garden is such a joyful sight as it marks the end of the depths of another winter.
‘We have survived’ they seem to say ‘and you have, too’.
They herald in another year of garden activity starting with all of those jobs you can do while the plants are dormant: pruning roses and deciduous shrubs, planting bare root plants and trees and preparing spring bedding.
