Bath Medical Museum has teamed up with ‘Designability’ and researchers at the University of Bath to mount a small but very significant and very revealing exhibition demonstrating the importance of creating supportive environments and aids to foster ‘Wellbeing’ and ‘Wellness’ for everyone.
Designability was established in 1968. An independent charity founded by renowned Bath inventor and engineer, Bevan Horstmann, and consultant surgeon, Kenneth Lloyd-Williams of the RUH. Over the years it developed close links with the then fledging University of Bath and in particular the Bio Mechanics Department.
There will be a chance to see ‘Wizzibug’ a fun, powered wheelchair for very young disabled children as well as artificial joints provided by the former Professor of Bio mechanics and a wide variety of aids that provide ingenious solutions to everyday problems.
The exhibition will be open at The Hetling Pump Room for the whole of the half term holiday including the two weekends from Saturday 10th to February to Monday 19th. From 12pm to 4pm for free.
