The Community Farm is inviting locals to experience farm life firsthand through its popular Community Farmer Days this autumn,

On Saturday, November 16, the farm located at Denny Lane, Chew Magna, is inviting participants to take part in seasonal field tasks designed to be productive, educational, and engaging, rain or shine.

The event provides a chance to enjoy the scenic surroundings overlooking Chew Valley Lake while learning where food comes from. Adults and supervised children are welcome to get involved.

The Community Farm, a not-for-profit social enterprise located in the Chew Valley, near Bristol and Bath, partners with organic producers and local farmers who share its nature-friendly ethos.

Supplying fresh, local, and organic food to households across Bristol, Bath, the Chew Valley, Frome, and Weston-super-Mare, the farm prioritises community growth alongside food production. Each year, it welcomes more than 1,500 visitors for wellbeing courses, social events, and volunteer sessions.

These family-friendly days offer a chance for everyone in the community to experience life as a farmer for a day, with no experience required.

Prior to the event, participants will receive an email detailing the specific activities planned for the day. For first-time community farmers, registration is required on The Community Farm website to comply with health and safety regulations.

The Community Farm also offers a weekday volunteering program on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where participants can assist in the fields by tending to crops or contribute to wildlife conservation by caring for flower beds and wild spaces around the farm.

Anyone with specific support needs is encouraged to talk to the Engagement Lead or Community Farmer, who will do their best to accommodate those requirements.
