A new fortnightly stay and play group for children with additional needs starts this January at Wesley Methodist Church in Frome.
Hosted by The Pod Charity and supported by Frome Town Council, 'SEED Pod' offers play sessions with games, activities, and crafts for young people aged eight and over, along with their parents or carers. The sessions will run after school from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, starting on Wednesday, January 8.
Charity manager Sue Paxton said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to support more children with additional needs, including those unable to join The Pod youth club due to its long waiting list.
“SEED Pod will be a place for young people aged eight and over to make friends in a safe and supported space outside of school, and for parent carers to make connections too. Younger siblings are welcome but should bring their own age-appropriate games and activities.
“The Pod team will work with families at the group to plan future activities, depending on the interests of the young people who attend. No booking is required; please make a voluntary contribution of £2 per child aged eight and over if you can. There will also be a pop-up cafe serving affordable drinks and snacks.”
