MIDSOMER Norton’s Wetherspoon’s pub will host a 12-day beer festival which will highlight a range of ales from international brewers.

The Palladium Electric will host the festival from Wednesday, March 5, until Sunday, March 16, offering drinks made by brewers from Italy, Australia, New Zealand Canada and the USA.

A number of beers are being brewed for the first time exclusively for the festival.

Alongside featuring beers with a range of different malt and hop varieties from around the world, there will also be beers that include cherries and cocoa beans in their ingredients.

Pints will cost £2.15. Customers will also be able to buy three third-of-a-pint tasters, which will be available for the price of a pint.

There will also be vegan beers available among the festival’s collection.

The international beers are called Hey Pal, Estuary Session Ale, Wallaby, Chocolate Porta and Antiopdean. The festival line-up also includes ales such as Alpha Female, Chase the Sun, Cherry Nice and Queen of Hearts.

Pub manager Rhiannon Buttrey said: “The festival is a great celebration of real ale.

“It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb beers, featuring beers not previously available to our customers in the pub, including those from brewers as far afield as Australia and New Zealand, as well as those closer to home, over a 12 day period.

“All of the beers will be available at great value for money prices.”

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pub as part of the festival magazine, and a digital version will also be available on the Wetherspoon app and website.

All ales will be available to order at the bar or via the Wetherspoon app.
