A CINEMA chain has issued a stern warning to anyone who takes part in an ‘annoying’ trend which has divided A Minecraft Movie audiences.

Scott Cinemas, which has venues in Barnstaple, Bridgwater, Bristol and other locations in the South West, has said it will remove anybody seen to be taking part in the latest craze.

The Independent reports in the wake of the film’s release, cinema-goers have been sharing footage of crowds watching the film, with certain moments prompting loud, vocal responses from the people in attendance.

Scott Cinemas said in statement on social media: “Please remember, the cinema is supposed to be a safe and enjoyable place for all ages.

“Anyone found taking part in the current social media trend involving A Minecraft Movie will be removed from the cinema.

“We wish for our customers to enjoy the experience they have paid for. If there is any disruption, please let a member of the team know and they will be happy to assist.”

One moment, which features prominently in the film’s trailer, sees Jack Black and Jason Momoa confronted in a boxing ring by a cuboid Minecraft chicken, who is ridden around the ring by another character. “Chicken jockey,” exclaims Black’s character, a reference to the video game that seems to be sending audiences wild.

Several videos captured by cinema-goers have shown audiences chanting the line along with Black, before whooping and clapping loudly. On social media, many people attested that they had witnessed, or participated in, similar outbursts.
