SOMERSET-based author Charlie Bigham, the mastermind behind his own hugely successful independent food brand, is to release his eagerly awaited first cookbook on September 12.
Supper with Charlie Bigham is a celebration of Charlie’s favourite dishes and featuring beloved classics like fish pie, chicken tikka, and lasagne.
Festival-goers can buy Charlie’s cookbook and have it signed by him on the day. The proceeds will be going to Chefs in Schools, an organisation transforming school food and food education standards.
With more than 100 recipes the book is a treasure trove of fuss-free, flavour-packed meals that Charlie and his family love to cook and enjoy together.
The chapters offer everything from standing-up starters and drinks and sitting-down starters to mains for two, four, or six, mains for many, vegetable sides and sharing plates, and indulgent puddings.
Whether you're whipping up a quick baba ganoush with toasted pitta, or serving a hearty roast chicken, leek and ham pie, there's something in the book for every occasion.
Charlie said: “Over the years a lot of my customers have suggested I write a cookbook – it’s finally happened and has turned out to be a lot of fun. I’ve included all my favourite recipes from home that have been refined over the years and have got the thumbs up from family and friends alike.
“Everything is easy to cook, full of flavour and, in keeping with how I like to cook, can be made without any fuss while having a good chat (and maybe a drink) with whoever happens to be with you in the kitchen.”
“I’m hoping that the book will inspire people to try cooking a few things they may not have cooked before — and have a great time doing it!”
The book is perfect for those amongst us who appreciate good, honest food without the fuss, this cookbook is a must-have for any kitchen.
Now operating from two large kitchens in London and Somerset, his oven-ready meals are sold in over 2,000 UK shops and enjoyed by a million people each week.
The festival is taking place on October 13, 2024 from 10.30am to 4.30pm. There will be more than 200 traders from Somerset and the South West selling food, drinks, street food, and homeware.
The book is set to be published on September 12, 2024, for more information on the festival, visit: https://wellsfoodfestival.co.uk/
