FIRE crews rushed to free a driver trapped in their car after colliding with a wall in Somerset.

Two fire engines were sent to a report of a single-vehicle collision in Cheddar at around 11.30pm yesterday (Sunday, February 23).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on its log: “On arrival crews confirmed that this vehicle had collided with a wall, with one persons trapped inside.

“Crews released the casualty, using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools. The casualty was then handed over to the ambulance service on scene. Police also attended.”

Fire crews from Cheddar and Wells attended the incident which closed at around 1.30am this morning.
