FIVE adorable lambs have been born to the same ewe in a 'one in a million' birth.

The Texel Cross lambs - three girls and two boys - arrived at Bowerings Farm in Shapwick, Somerset.

The quintuplets have been named Georgina, Timmy, Anne, Dick and Julian - after the Famous Five characters from the novels by Enid Blyton.

Tracey Lockyer, 56, is the proud owner of the sheep and has never had five lambs born to one ewe before.

She said: "I couldn't believe it to be honest. It's amazing and really, really rare.

"Our ewe had them on Thursday and I posted the news on facebook - I had loads of people asking is that rare, so my sister looked it up and discovered that it's a one in a million chance.

"I'm 56 and as far back as I can remember from 14, my Dad, who was a sheep farmer, never had five.

"I just remember being stood there and looking at her like, 'where did they come from and whose are they’!

"They were all hers, decent size, and they are healthy, bouncing around.

"Their mum is still altogether but she can't feed five - so I'm topping them up at the moment."

Tracey has 125 breeding ewes on her sheep farm and also works full time on a school farm.

She keeps some of her pet lambs who she names, and even has two orphan lambs "following her around" at the moment.

She added: "They are like dogs honestly.

"I will be keeping the girls but maybe not the boys, as otherwise I would have nearly 400 sheep - which is a lot on top of a full time job.

"It's all about the way you treat them - they are so lovely and so intelligent.

"I would do anything for my animals before myself."
