New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Mendip’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The Lounge, at Club Lounge, 29 High Street, Shepton Mallet was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 15.

And First Kick coffee at Kilver Court Ca, at Kilver Court, Shepton Mallet was also given a score of four on November 24.

It means that of Mendip's 197 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 163 (83%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
