Back by popular demand, Join Tom Carradine on the “Ol’ Joanna” as he recaptures the flavour and atmosphere of the good old ‘knees-up’ with an evening of Cockney classics and old favourites from across the ages.
It’s been a while since Tom Carradine was entertaining the masses in Midsomer Norton. His last visit was one to the town hall in May 2022. This time, for his first visit in over two years, Tom will be performing in the town park’s amphitheatre as part of a free community concert - just one week on from the spectacular Midsomer Norton Music and Arts Festival.
Midsomer Norton’s favourite magnificently moustachioed musical maestro is back for an afternoon of singalong classics from across the ages - music hall, musicals, wartime singalongs and modern favourites given a classic twist, and this time with an added seasonal flavour, as we approach the festive season like a runaway sleigh. Audience participation optional, but encouraged. Clapping along, toe tapping, flag waving and grinning like a loon are all almost inevitable.
Since its launch in 2014, Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long has rapidly become a fixture on the UK’s thriving vintage scene and is now playing sell-out dates in the main auditorium at Wilton’s, monthly dates at Cahoots in London, Emporium in Brighton and for vintage events and festivals across the country.
So bring your picnic, ready your deck chairs and your voices and join Tom in the town park for an afternoon of fantastic family entertainment. There will be songs you know, old favourites you'd forgotten you knew and some modern classics given a singalong makeover you'll never forget!
The concert has been organised by Midsomer Norton Community Trust and Merriman Theatre Group and will take place on Saturday, June 8, at 2.30pm.
