Another successful year has been celebrated as the 2024 Frome Festival has come to a close

From July 5 to July 14, Frome saw more than 12,000 guests attend its annual Frome Festival to spectate over 250 events delivered by artists and local community groups.

One of these guests was Mayor Andy Jones, who said: “Once again the Frome Festival was an amazing event for the town, showcasing local talent as well as welcoming lots of artists from across the UK.

“My personal favourite was the land-based synchronised swimming at the Food Feast, but with so much music, comedy and theatre, there really was lots for everyone to enjoy, including Dragon Waggon for the youngest people. Congratulations to Adam, Sarah and the team for curating all the events and making it another exciting, varied and inclusive festival - here's to 2025.”

The festival engages with more than 100 local volunteers and partners with more than 60 local companies as venues and event sponsors. Frome Festival maintains accessible ticket pricing across its events, featuring an average of five free events per day in 2022.

The Frome Festival's programme included events held in a variety of locations across the town, such as large venues, churches, libraries, and pubs. The events are designed to accommodate audiences and participants of all ages.

Frome resident Rebecca Bradley said: “I love the variety of performances that the Frome Festival brings us. This year was excellent; the Food Feast, theatre in pubs, amazing music, walking tours, all sorts...”

The festival impacts local businesses by attracting thousands of visitors who spend time at shops, restaurants, and hotels. This increase in visitor numbers contributes to the local economy and provides additional revenue for small businesses in the town.

Georgie Rose, an employee at the Cheese and Grain, said: “It’s such an amazing thing for Frome and all businesses involved, something happening for everyone during the two weeks, what more could you ask for?”

Next year's Frome Festival is scheduled to take place from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 13, 2025. The festival will once again feature a variety of events and activities, continuing its tradition of celebrating local culture and community. Residents and visitors can look forward to another ten days of diverse performances, exhibitions, and workshops throughout the town.
