After the most difficult of any year at the helm, MSN and Radstock’s Inner Wheel President Heather Langridge has handed over to next year’s President Jacky Emm, who is promising “fun and friendship” at the forefront of her time in office.

Jacky received her IW chain at a garden meeting where Heather was praised for the way she had tirelessly kept club members in touch during the pandemic via phone calls, newsflashes and by organising cream tea “pods of six” in members’ gardens and similar lunchtime get togethers at Emborough’s Old Down Inn when Covid 19 restrictions allowed.

On members’s behalf, she was presented with a pot plant and garden voucher by retiring members Betty Jones (right) and Betty Pratten who, between them, can look back on over 85 years of involvement with the organisation.

The new IW programme will strike off with a visit from Rotary President Nick Candy who will outline what his club’s year has in store.

IW meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at The Old Down Inn. New members are always welcomed and for anyone interested, please contact Secretary, Elaine Muir on: 07543 973666.
