New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of Somerset’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Papa's Taste at 50 North Street, Taunton, Somerset; rated on November 27

• Rated 5: Quantock Restaurant at Bridgwater & Taunton College, Wellington Road, Taunton, Somerset; rated on November 27

• Rated 5: Tesco Family Dining at Tesco, Castle Street, Taunton, Somerset; rated on November 19

• Rated 5: Boston Tea Party at 25 Fore Street, Taunton, Somerset; rated on November 14

• Rated 5: Mcdonalds Restaurants Ltd at 58 East Street, Taunton, Somerset; rated on November 14

It means that of Somerset's 1,015 similar establishments with ratings, 848 (84%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
