Dr Julian Widdowson was a senior partner in a large local GP practice, St Chad's and Chilcompton Surgery.

He has recently left to establish a medical charity for injured dancers, the 'Dance Again Foundation', after his son, a ballet dancer, was severely injured in a Cardiff street attack.

The Committee Members from the Friends of St Chad's and Chilcompton Surgery have personally donated money to the Foundation, thanking him for his support in their efforts to improve the facilities of the patients at St Chad's and Chilcompton and wishing him every success in his new venture.

Having qualified from University College Hospital, London, Dr Widdowson has since worked with various athletes, ranging from elite Olympic athletes and professional sports teams, to the recreational sports person, treating a range of sporting injuries.

Dr Widdowson was awarded an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of Bath. He was Team Doctor to the England Rugby U-16s for ten years and joined the medical team at Bath Rugby in 2003.

Most recently, he has been the Team Doctor to the England A rugby team.
