A TOTAL of 150,000 lower-cost train tickets are to be made available as Great Western Railway launches its January Sale to encourage people to get ahead with a break away in the New Year.
The train company is offering 100,000 standard class seats and a further 50,000 First Class seats at 50 per cent off its most popular Advance fares.
The January Sale fares are available on First or Standard class fares for just one week from Thursday, January 2, to Thursday, January 9.
People can take advantage of fares from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads for just £21, or First Class Advance Single fares of £37 between London Paddington and Bath Spa.
Travellers are advised to book from Thursday, January 2, to take advantage of the offer and get even more off the cost of cheap advance tickets for travel on the Great Western network – with journeys available for as little as 7p per mile.
From winter coastal walks in Devon and Cornwall, to a city break in Oxford, Cardiff or London, the GWR rail network connects the most popular cities, historic towns and beautiful regions in the South West of England and Wales.
GWR sales and marketing director Amanda Burns said: “The January Sale is designed to encourage people off the sofa and away from the post-Christmas telly, to explore the fantastic sights of the South West instead. Our Advance fares offer great value throughout the year, but in our sale you’ll find some great deals available on some of the lowest fares.”
