Hinkley Point C, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes, has joined Passion for Somerset as a Principal Partner.
Stacy Walker, Hinkley Point C Stakeholder Relations Manager, said: “Britain's new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C has seen another year of incredible engineering from under the seabed to the top of the world’s largest land based crane, Big Carl.
“Every milestone takes Britain closer to net zero and stronger energy security. We are delighted to be partnering and supporting both Passion for Somerset and Somerset Day.”
Hinkley Point C will be working closely with the team at Passion for Somerset said Founder, Nigel Muers-Raby.
Mr Muers-Raby said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome all involved in this ground-breaking project for Somerset and Great Britain. Their roots are deeply planted in Somerset and they share our desire to support Somerset’s communities, organisations and independent businesses.”
