The festive season is just around the corner and the date for Midsomer Norton’s Christmas Tree Lights Switch-On has now been confirmed for the Thursday, 30th November.
The event will focus around Live Music in the Hollies Garden on the High Street, with festivities running between 5pm and 8pm with lighting of the tree taking place at 7pm with a sing-a-long session.
As well as the music the event will feature a range of market stalls and already a huge number of High Street shops and businesses have committed to opening for Late Night Shopping (until 8pm) – the perfect chance to explore the range of offerings on the town’s High Street.
For families there will be various activities and games; Santa’s Grotto will be present (thanks to Midsomer Norton Carnival Association) and street performers/music at various locations on the High Street.
The event is being run by Midsomer Norton Community Trust and sponsored by the Town Council. More information on performers, activities and stalls will be revealed in the coming weeks.
This is the first year of trying to restart a Christmas event with late night shopping and it can be a starting point for even bigger annual events in future.
More information will be available next week here.
