Residents of Frome have organised a protest against the erection of a digital billboard on Portway at the Station Approach Junction. The gathering will start at 10am. Updates to follow.

What caused the protest
- The planning application was recieved on the 17th Nov 2022. This was submitted on behalf of Wildstone Estates Limited.
- The Frome Town Council Planning Committee discussed this application on 15th December 2022. A unanimous decision from the discussion was made to "strongly object" the billboard's erection.
- Residents say that they were not informed of the planning application.
- Mendip Council approved the application for five years, despite objections from both the Frome Town Council and twenty seven local residents on the online consultation. Zero public comments were made in favour of the application.
- Mendip Council have put a limitation on the billboard's illumination hours. The screen may be switched on between 6am and 10pm daily.
