Arthur David Food Service, a family business who supply many of the South West’s pubs and restaurants, has set up a pop-up scheme to help people in this time of shortage.

The company, who have been running for the past fifty years, came to the rescue of many towns and villages with their newly-trialled pop-up van service last Friday.

Two vans full of fruit, vegetables, milk and other groceries set up shop outside of Waterhouse Independent Financial Advisors on Midsomer Norton High Street.

James Dunkerton, Sales representative for the business said: “We are launching a door-to-door delivery service where individuals can order and pay straight away.

“We understand that there has been massive shortages of food in supermarkets over the past week, so we are trying to adapt the business to help everyone that we can.

“We are all in this together and everyone should try and help one another.

“Our aim is to cut down people’s waiting times and get ahead of the game so people do not lose out on food. I think that this will especially help the older people in the communities who are not able to leave the house to buy food.”

The business will be delivering to BA postcodes initially, covering Bath and Bristol, along with the villages in between.

A spokesperson for the company said: “We are trying to help as many people as possible. There are people who cannot go out and get food because there is not enough in the shops, so this will help those individuals.

“I came down to see how the team are getting on, and to pick up some produce to take to the local doctors surgery for the staff who were not able to get down here today.”
