Due to heavy snow across the South West, schools and bus services have announced closures, including the 172 which will not run between Paulton, Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Peasedown St John. Met Office continue to issue a yellow weather warning. See below for a list of school closures

- Writhlington School: Unfortunately, after a site inspection, the school is closed today (Wednesday 8th March) due to the adverse weather conditions. Please look out for an update later today or early tomorrow morning after further site inspections.

Bus services closed
Due to heavy snow in the Bath area, services 172/173/174 & 379 for Bath are suspended pending further checks. Service 174 will still operate to Shepton Mallet from Wells only as per the timetable. Service 376 is scheduled to operate as normal.
Due to snow no buses are running between Paulton, Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Peasedown St John.

What to expect
Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers
Bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times possible
Some rural communities could become temporarily cut off
Power cuts may occur and other services may be temporarily affected
Untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable with a chance of injuries from slips and falls on snow-covered or icy surfaces
