Little lurcher, Cashew, is just seven months old, and unfortunately this homeless pup spent his first Christmas in the care of Forever Hounds Trust rather than with a family of his own.

Cashew is a very playful cream and fawn coloured lurcher, with incredible eyes! One is blue and the other is brown, making him very distinctive.

Cashew was given up by his owner and taken in by Somerset-based Forever Hounds Trust, who will care for him until a new forever home can be found. This meant his first Christmas was spent with the greyhound and lurcher charity.

Head of Welfare Campaigns for Forever Hounds Trust, Emma Butler, said: “We are always looking for homes for our rescued dogs. There are so many dogs that need our help that as soon as we find a home for one, we are able to rescue another. 2019 has been challenging for Forever Hounds Trust, with more dogs needing our help than ever before, and some of them with extensive veterinary needs. Luckily, we have a terrific band of volunteers and supporters, who have helped us find many happy homes for the lives we have saved.”

It is hoped that someone will offer a home to lively little Cashew in the New Year and that 2019 will be the only Christmas he will spend away from his family.

Forever Hounds Trust volunteers who have got to know Cashew say that he is a very affectionate dog, and gets on well with everyone he meets, both human and hound! He is friends with everyone and loves play time.

Cashew is a lively young dog though, so will need an active home where his intelligence is put to the test and he has plenty to keep him occupied.

If you could offer a home to Cashew, or one of the other greyhounds or lurchers in Forever Hounds Trust’s care, please get in touch with them on: 03000 125 125 or email: [email protected].
