Paulton Concert Band provided the music for the Service on 23rd July at Tabor Independent Methodist Church in North Road Timsbury.
It was hoped to be able to hold this outside but the weather had different ideas forcing a retreat indoors but this certainly did not detract from the enjoyment.
Despite being very low in numbers, due to illness and holidays, the band gave a superb performance with music ranging from hymns to Elizebeth Remembered, and Song of the seashore. Crown Imperial was also included in their repertoire with Bandmaster Richard Soulsby commenting that this was something of a major feat for such a small ensemble.
They ended with a rousing finale with tunes, including Drink up thee Cider, from The Wurzels – something Tabor had probably never heard played within its walls in all its 162 years.
The afternoon concluded with refreshments and lots of congratulations for the Band.
Mrs Jean Auckland will lead the Service on 6th August at 11 a.m, always a very popular and welcome Preacher.
Please come and join us, we would love to see you.
