An update on projects happening in and around the Somer Valley will be presented to the community at the next Area Forum meeting on September 20th giving people a chance to have their say.
Residents are invited to hear the latest on the Somer Valley Enterprise Zone and Somer Valley Rediscovered, a scheme to improve biodiversity and connect people to their local green spaces.
This will include an update on The Active Way and the new Willson Grant funding on offer for Somer Valley community projects that support active lifestyles and improve wellbeing.
The meeting takes place at the Hive Community Centre at Peasedown St John from 6pm on Wednesday, September 20th. The Hive will also give a presentation on how the centre has developed into the community asset it is today.
The meeting is also the AGM of the Forum with the Chair and Vice Chair, Lynda Robertson and Ron Hopkins volunteering to stand for another year. The AGM Report for 2022/2023 is available online.
Councillor Kevin Guy, Leader of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “It’s great news that people in the Somer Valley will have the opportunity to get together to discuss the public services that matter to them. We’ll be giving updates on important projects taking place in the local area and so I hope as many residents as possible will be able to attend.”
Lynda Robertson, Chair of the Somer Valley Forum, said: “We are delighted to be holding the Somer Valley Forum AGM at The Hive in Peasedown St John. It is the first time that the Forum has taken place in this exciting community space and our first in-person AGM since 2020. Please do come along to find out more about The Hive’s journey and facilities as well to hear from our other speakers on their projects in the Somer Valley, ask questions and have your say. The Forum meetings are always open to anyone that wishes to attend and we look forward to welcoming you.”
You can find more information and meeting dates for all the forums on the council website.
