A MAN from Bath has been remanded in custody to appear in Taunton Crown Court accused of trying to murder a woman in Bridgwater.
Tobias Raynes, aged 21, from the city’s Camden area, was put before magistrates in Taunton on Monday (September 16) on three charges.
Raynes was accused of attempted murder, intentional strangulation, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The magistrates committed Raynes for trial in Taunton Crown Court, where he will make a first appearance on Friday, October 11.
The alleged offences relate to an incident in Bridgwater on September 12 where a woman aged in her 20s suffered an assault.
Avon and Somerset Police said at the time the woman had been taken to hospital where she was in a ‘stable’ condition.
Raynes had been held in police custody before his hearing in the magistrates court in Taunton.
