THE Mendip Male Voice Choir held an emotional last rehearsal with musical director Jamie Knights on Monday, March 25.
Jamie was standing down after eleven successful and enjoyable years. The choir’s new musical director, Kate Courage, was present. For one interesting number, both conducted the choir simultaneously.
After a shortened rehearsal everyone retired to Timsbury Royal British Legion for a presentation to Jamie and refreshments. Jamie was presented with five gifts each heralded by appropriately modified versions of The Sound of Music song, These are a few of Jamie’s favourite things!
Kate takes over for our summer term with the concerts below and weekly rehearsals held every Monday from 7.30pm-9.30pm at St Mary’s School Timsbury, where new members are always welcome.

- Saturday, July 13 at 4.30pm with Swallow at St Nicholas Church, Radstock
- Friday, July 19 at 7.30pm MMVC Annual Summer Concert at Midsomer Norton Methodist Church
- Saturday, September 14 at 7pm with Mousehole MVC at All Saints, Weston, Bath
The Mendip Male Voice Choir is an inclusive group, welcoming all male singers who will sing to the best of their ability. No previous experience of singing in a choir is required, or even the ability to read music.
