Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? If the answer’s no, then fear not! On the evening of this year’s Christmas Tree Lights Switch On in Midsomer Norton, some shops will be offering late night browsing to those still searching for the perfect gift. The wonderful volunteers at Dorothy House Hospice Shops are on hand to help you shop sustainably this year, equipped with a poem to boot!

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat,

Please put some money in the Dorothy House “ hat”.

We have a cornucopia of lovely gifts, cards, and calendars too,

Plenty of choice to appeal to friends, both old and new.

Got family coming for Christmas and running out of plates?

Come and check out our gear, on Thursday 30th, we’re going to be open late!

Or do you need a “put you up bed” or some extra curtains?

We have plenty of choice, so can help, of that we are certain,

Or how about a new dining table, bookcase, or some extra chairs?

Pop into the furniture shop and check out the fabulous donated wares.

In Midsomer Norton in both our shops, we’ve new goods, plus pre loved items,

Including Christmas jumpers, sparkly dresses, twinkling lights, all to help brighten.

There’s cookery books, a variety of planters, and colourful tulip bulbs.

You could fabricate some handmade gifts by upcycling preloved and old!

There’s gift sets, toys, books, for children and for the old’uns,

We’ve got Ubiety diffusers, aromatic creams, handwash and other potions.

Do come and support your local shops and see the switching on of lights,

November 30th ideal for promenading, browsing, and shopping late into the night.
