Motorists are being warned of heavy traffic across our area as another road closure was reported by the B&NES Highways and Traffic account on 'X': The A368 between Chelwood and Marksbury has closed due to flooding.
Avon Fire and Rescue attended reports of cars being stuck in flood water this morning. They have issued the following advice:
- If you see a flooded road ahead, turn around and find an alternative route.
- Water on the road can be deeper than you think, so don’t try and continue through floodwater.
- If you drive through any puddle of a significant size, test your brakes as soon as it’s safe to do so.
- In an emergency, always call 999.
🚗 🌊 We've already been called out twice this morning to cars in floodwater.
