For the first concert of this year The Ringers entertained The Friday Club at Trinity Westfield on 11th March and were given a very warm welcome.
Ms Angie Poole, leader, explained this was the first concert for almost two years and the group had only four weeks to rehearse these particular pieces of music.
There were four new members who were playing and it was a credit to them to be brave enough to come along and play. Angie explained the history of the bells and was inundated with questions.
Dianne Carter and Marion Palmer read amusing anecdotes or poems during two short breaks to give the ringers a slight pause in the proceedings. The Ringers were well rewarded by the lovely array of refreshments and most welcome cups of tea provided by the ladies of the Church.
The group will be taking part in Tabor’s Anniversary Service on 24th April when Roseanna Blewitt will be presiding. If there are any local clubs etc who would like to be entertained by the ringers, there is no charge for services, (although a donation is welcome which helps us support local charities as need arises), then please contact our Secretary, Barb Spalding, on: (01761) 752177.
