We are already steaming ahead into May, which means North East Somerset locals with birthdays this month are starting to use their free 'Birthday Bus Month Pass’ from Mayor Dan Norris’s Mayoral Combined Authority.
Birthday Buses gives people unlimited free bus and WESTlink travel across the West’s 350-plus square mile network throughout the month of their birthday.
That’s good news for those with birthdays this month who’ll enjoy not one but two Bank Holidays in which to hop on the bus to enjoy the great beauty of the region for free.
There’s still time for those with May birthdays to sign up for Birthday Buses, says the regional Mayor - they can still apply up to the 15th, and get their free pass for the remainder of the month.
Mr Norris said: “Birthday Buses is getting more people using our buses. It’s working.
“Crucially, half of users of this scheme say it’s made them more likely to use buses in the future. That’s vital to create a more sustainable bus network.
“For those with June birthdays, head to www.birthdaybus.co.uk today.”
So far 54,000 locals have applied for the Mayor’s “Birthday Buses” scheme making 710,000 journeys.
