North Somerset's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9pm April 24 to 6am May 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 20, lane closure for surveys.

• M5, from 9pm April 24 to 6am May 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to 19, lane closure for surveys.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M5, from 8pm May 1 to 6am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 19 exit slips, lane closure for surveys.

• M5, from 10pm May 1 to 6am May 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 lane closure for drainage works.

• M5, from 9pm May 8 to 5am May 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 21 to junction 22 lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
