NORTON Hills year 11 students have seen an improvement in their GCSE results compared to last year.

Students, parents, carers, and staff gathered in the sixth form centre to receive the GCSE results.

Norton Hill reports that outcomes have improved compared to last year. English, Maths, and Science all had grade 4+ percentages of 85% to 86%, and 80% of students achieved grade 4+ in English and Maths.

Initial figures indicate that progress has also improved this year, reflecting the combined efforts of staff, students, and their parents/carers.

Headteacher Gordon Green said, “It is always an honour and a privilege to share in these moments and I am pleased that the overwhelming emotion was one of positivity.”

Some students achieved outstanding results, with many securing grade 8s and 9s, including Megan N, Isabelle C, Emily P, Harriette R, Samuel G, Isaac H, William S, and Louis W.

It was both moving and emotional to see Hattie R’s parents, who lost Hattie to illness earlier in the summer, receive her impressive grades of 7 grade 9s, 1 grade 7, and 1 grade 5.

Hattie reflected everything the school aspires for students and she will be sorely missed.
